Karsen’s Grill in Old Town Scottsdale is an award-winning, charming, and quaint little bar and grill near the corner of 1st and Brown St. It is a favorite hangout for baseball fans during Cactus League spring training and Arizona Fall League because of it’s proximity to Scottsdale Stadium.
It is also a great place to meet up with friends or make new ones. As the owners of this often boisterous locale boast ‘there are no first-timers here, we treat you like one of our own.’ Karsen’s Grill also boasts the best burger in Scottsdale, and the consistently first-rate lunch or dinner plates offer a variety of choices for all appetites.
The daily specials at Karsen’s Grill have become something of a local legend, as even football fans in Old Town Scottsdale refer to Monday Night as Pork Chop Night, not just Monday Night Football Night. And this Bone-In 10 oz. Pork Chop served with Homemade Mashed Potatoes and Applesauce is not to be missed. Of course, that could be said about Sunday too, since the Machaca Beef Burrito is also a true original. Recently, they have added a Spaghetti & Meatballs special on Tuesday Nights. And since there is always room for dessert, you’ll appreciate the seasonally-based desserts by Tracy Dempsey to complete your Karsen’s Grill experience.
Owners John Heffron (left) and Ray Beamer (right) took over Karsen’s Grill in 1994.
Previous to Karsen’s, they both worked everywhere else in Scottsdale for longer than they care to remember while making friends with everyone in town.
They invite you to come by Karsen’s early and often, and stay as long as you like. Or until they toss you out.
